To celebrate a combination of his 96th birthday and 80 years of sailing, Peter Greeve was awarded Life Membership of PRSC at a brief ceremony during sailing at Mounts Bay Yacht Club on July 16th.

If anybody has the need to visit the on-site doctor's surgery of Woodlands Family Practice, you will feel welcome as the reception walls have a familiar sight. The paintings of Jackadder and the sailors was done by the local Dr Elderfield many years ago.

With the demise of Jackadder Lake and no relief in sight, we have managed to secure access to the front lawn and beachfront at Mounts Bay Sailing Club situated on the Swan River. 

Due to a potentially toxic outbreak reported in Jackadder Lake we have been instructed not to enter the water until further notice

A good attendance of 35 members gathered at the Warren Lake Hall in Woodlands on 14th December for the End of Year Award Presentation and Luncheon. A total of 24 awards of club medallions were made along with 4 Club Championship perpetual trophies

The recent DF State Championships at Jackadder make the newspaper

Local sailor Justin McAullay held off Nick Jerwood and Craig Taylor in a closely fought finish to clinch the DF95 WA State title

Easterly winds with a top gate 'outside in' course provided a different set of challenges for the 20 competitors in a 2 fleet HMS scoring day. Only later in the afternoon did the winds swap to a more regular south westerly, providing sailors with a fine example of fickle Jackadder winds. 

The inaugural Jackadder DF95 Cup event was held on October 11th with 17 entrants, plenty of sun and and one of the better winds (even though our visitors di not agree!) we have experienced in a while. Being a ranking event, the first at Jackadder for many years, it was used as a rehearsal for the DF State Championships which are scheduled for 8/9th November and we are confident the State Championships will go off without a hitch.
